Sweet Silence Downstroke Wall — Mark IIC+ Rhythm & Clean Interlude
The main rhythm tone came from a Gibson Flying V plugged directly into a Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+, with a BB/Aphex EQF-1 inserted in the amplifier’s effects loop. Flemming Rasmussen’s surviving notes provide unusually precise amplifier settings, while the external EQ curve and clean-interlude chain remain partly undocumented. Notes
Use strict downpicking and considerably less gain than a modern metal preset. The album’s size came from tightly layered performances, additional low-E chug tracks and carefully blended microphones.
