Olympic Psychedelic Fuzz — Riff & Octavia Overdub

The foundation is Hendrix’s early fuzz sound into a loud Marshall-style stack, while Roger Mayer’s Octavia supplies the octave-rich solo and outro overdubs. Mayer recalled that Hendrix used a borrowed Telecaster for the Octavia overdub after damaging his Stratocaster, although the exact guitar used for every underlying take remains uncertain. Exact control positions were not documented, so settings are approximated from the documented effects and period rig. Notes

For a strong upper octave, use the neck pickup for the solo, roll the guitar tone back slightly and play around the 12th fret. Do not bury the attack under excessive fuzz.
