Criteria Studio Guitar Duel — Swirling Twelve-String & Les Paul–Tele Finale
Don Felder’s introduction combined a centrally miked Takamine 12-string with its DeArmond pickup routed through an Echoplex, small Orange amplifiers and Leslie-style stereo movement. The closing harmonies contrast Felder’s 1959 Les Paul through a cranked Fender Tweed Deluxe with Joe Walsh’s Telecaster, probably through a Roland Cube; exact control positions are approximated from the documented equipment. Signal Chain
Notes
Keep the twelve-string intro wide but retain a solid dry acoustic signal in the centre. The closing harmony works because Felder’s humbucker tone contrasts clearly with Walsh’s brighter single-coil sound.
