California Twin-Lead Contrast — 12-String Intro & Harmonized Solos
Don Felder’s arrangement combined a processed 12-string introduction with contrasting electric voices: his humbucker-equipped Les Paul through a cranked tweed Fender Deluxe and Joe Walsh’s brighter Telecaster sound. Felder’s intro chain is documented with a Takamine 12-string, DeArmond pickup, Echoplex and Leslie, while Walsh later recalled a small Roland combo but was not fully certain of the model. Exact control positions were not published, so settings are approximated from those documented rigs.
